| We consider
our wood kayaks and wood kayak kits to be ultralight. |
| |
When completed our wood kayak kits and single wood kayaks usually weigh between 36 to 42 pounds and offer durable strength. This weight reduction can allow for a faster kayak when
compared to another heavier kayak with the same design.
Though
we find the greatest advantage a recreational paddler will
feel with
this ultralight design is in the freedom to easily take the wood
kayak where they want. The easiest way to test this
is to
pick up the
kayak and put it on top of your car, then you will notice the
difference. Yes, you can do it without someone else to help or
struggling to get it up there. Just pick it up and carry it across
the park to the water's edge, get in and go!
