Cedar
strip
kayaks are small craft that are affected by weight and design. The positioning
of the center of gravity and the hull shape have large effects on kayak
performance. Therefore fitting a kayak to the person can
affect how the kayak performs. We use the cedar strip kayak plan to
begin, then we adjust the kayak plans to fit the person using it. The
result is a cedar strip kayak or kayak kit that is designed for you.
The
Aleutian people have used a similar body measurement system for thousands
of years to size kayaks to the paddler. We use proprietary design
software based on this traditional system to custom fit our cedar
strip kayaks and kayak kits to your body size.
The
custom fitting system uses your body measurements
to size and “fit” the
cedar strip kayak. There are 9 measurements and other infomation
needed to fit the kayak or kit to your body size. Our system is automated
and quick, you can do it yourself in seconds in our "build
